Sociology and Religion

This Monday, February 1st, we are hosting an evening lecture and discussion on “Sociology and Religion” presented by Linda Kaye Larrabee, Instructor of Sociology and Women’s Studies.

I hope that everyone can make it out to the meeting. Here are the details:

Monday, February 1st
8PM, Holden Hall Room 4

For those that couldn’t make it to the first meeting, we are reading a book a month, and to start, we’ve chosen The Missionary Position by Christopher Hitchens. Available at both B&N and Amazon. The book is a quick read, which gives you plenty time before our discussion towards the end of February (The 22nd to be exact).

Save the date: February 12th is the 201st birthday of Charles Darwin. We plan on having a table set up outside the SUB to enlighten people about Darwin and evolution. It’s going to be a lot of fun!

Also don’t forget, we’re meeting every week!

Oh, and from the office of the treasurer, we are running a special for our Spring membership drive where you can pay dues as well as get a t-shirt for $15. Of course you can purchase the shirt separately for $10, ideal for non-students who still wish to show their support and dues can be paid separately as well ($10). Officer elections will be held this semester, so dues not only support the organization but give you the power to shape its direction next semester.
