Tomorrow must be Tuesday! The Secular Students Society at Texas Tech neither endorses nor opposes alcoholic consumption. That said, some of us are gonna get together at Jalisco’s tomorrow (tue) night around 7 PM for(cheap) margaritas and Mexican food. It is located on Avenue Q, about a block south of 19th.
So it is unfortunate of me to have to say this but we are having/needing to wipe the current forum system and move to a new system. Two things with regard to this:
- You will have to re-register
- All the hard work and effort you put into the old forum is no longer visible (note not lost – if you have something really witty you wish to save or re-post, email me and I’ll find it for you
The new forum will be going live tonight and will consist of a member and non-member section. The member section only members of the Secular Student Society will be able to post and the non-member section will be open to the public. We are hoping that this and a few other changes will eliminate some problems discovered during the past few weeks with the forum.
Addition (Sept. 30, 2009 – 8:20 am): Forums are up and active, go register and start having fun people.
Great meeting tonight!
In honor of International Blasphemy Day, were going to be outside between the Student Union Building and the Library on Campus, selling cookies in exchange of one’s soul. All a passerby must do is sign a simple contract, stating we have ownership of their soul; they will then receive a cookie of their choice.
So, don’t forget to stop by to trade your soul for a cookie and bring your friends!
Just a reminder that our next official meeting will be tomorrow night, September 28. 8:00 pm, Holden Hall room 77.
We have a few charities that we are looking at trying to support, take a vote on the one you wish to support.

Just a reminder to everyone, our regularly scheduled meeting will be tomorrow night at 8:00 PM, Holden Hall room 77. The agenda includes voting on t-shirt designs, options for charity events, information on our “sell your soul for a cookie” event and a discussion of secular literature. I hope to see everyone there!
We have forum up and running – http://forum.secularttu.com/
Have fun talking about anything. One note offensive behavior will be moderated if needed though hopefully it won’t be.
The location of the meeting for this Monday night has been changed. We have been able to reserve a room after all, so we shall gather in Holden Hall room 121. Meeting time is still 8 pm. Hope to see everybody there!
The Secular Student Society of Texas Tech will be holding the first official meeting of the semester this Monday August 31st. We would like to encourage you to come out and support the student organization as we look forward to very busy semester. We are now an OFFICIAL student organization! Unfortunately, we were unable to reserve a room in time for the first meeting, so we shall be gathering in the SUB across from the food establishments in the cafeteria. Meeting time is 8:00 pm and we hope everyone can show up as we plan group activities for the semester as well as discuss the group goals. If you haven’t been to a meeting yet, this is the perfect time to stop by, meet with like minded people, and find out what the organization is all about.
